Update 11:07 a.m.: There’s currently much discussion about how House Bill 011 “Ban Foreign Teachers Act” was worded. Delegates believe that some of the language presented could suggest ethnic and racial undertones. With that said, the bill has just failed unanimously.

Scandalous celebrities, paparazzi, and a new venue kicked off Collegiate Legislature 2009, also known as C-Leg. Many activities were planned last night, including an Opening Session and mock debate to break the ice. The purpose of this was to get everyone well acquainted with parliamentary procedure. Although there are several returning delegates, everyone needs a little refresher now and then. Look out for more updates from me as the conference continues.
